About dbPix

If you want to generate a single file from an Access report that you can send by email, post on your website, make available for download etc, then Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) is a good choice.

As well as being a widely accepted format with a large installed user-base, you can tune the quality and detail of the images in the output according to your needs, eg lower resolution compressed images for the web version, high res images for the printed version.

To generate a pdf document from a Microsoft Access Report you can simply install the full Adobe® Acrobat® product (not just the free reader) which includes the PDF Writer printer driver.

You simply print your Access report to this "printer" to generate the document. The driver's configuration allows you to specify various parameters such as resolution and compression.

Note that generating Access Reports with many images or high-resolution output can consume large amounts of virtual/swap memory and spool space. See the relevant Technical Articles for more information on assessing and tuning system configuration.
